Aine Ceannt (1880-1954)
Married to Rising leader Eamonn Ceannt, she was vice-president of Cumann na mBan from 1917 to 1925, and as an anti-Treaty activist was jailed in Mountjoy for a year during the Civil War. She was later a founding member of the apolitical White Cross organisation, helping to provide sustenance, education and benefit to the dependents of those Volunteers killed or permanently disabled during the course of the Irish revolution.

Her account of the work of the organization, The Story of the Irish White Cross, 1920-1947, was published in 1948.
